She has worked in horticultural therapy at Pacific Quest in Hawaii, where she used gardening and plant-based activities to support therapeutic healing and personal growth. Additionally, Callie managed a 14-acre organic farm, Crusher Canyon Ranches, in Selah, Washington. There, she gained hands-on expertise in sustainable farming practices while also contributing to the local community's understanding of organic agriculture. These diverse experiences have further enriched her approach to education, blending nature, therapy, and hands-on learning.

Kaiti Dewhirst brings years of experience working with children and adults as a teacher, adventure guide, and fellow learner in outdoor and creative spaces. She believes the most meaningful learning is holistic—rooted in curiosity, creativity, and a strong connection to place. Her work is guided by the understanding that children thrive when they have the freedom to explore, wonder, and build relationships with the world around them.
What she loves most about outdoor learning is how fully immersive it is. Learners might watch a bird flit through branches collecting nesting material, smell the earthy scent of autumn leaves, feel the roughness of bark beneath their hands, and hear the chorus of frogs in springtime. It’s learning that awakens the senses and deepens connection—to the Earth, to others, and to oneself.
Kaiti grew up in Washington State, caring for farm animals and wandering through mossy forests and mountain trails. These early experiences sparked a lifelong love for nature and led her to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Education from Western Washington University. Today, she finds deep joy in supporting learners as they care for the irreplaceable gifts of the natural world—and one another.
